What am I doing here?

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."  (Ephesians 2:10)

In response to September 11th, I had an overwhelming desire to help people.  But how?

I'm not a nurse or doctor.  I have no idea how to build a house or find clean drinking water or grow crops.  The only thing I really know how to do is...teach.  So after 20 years in the travel industry, I took a leap of faith and left my corporate training job.

After 10 months of seeking the Lord's will, I sold or gave away almost all of my worldly possessions, said goodbye to my family and friends in California, and set off to teach English overseas.

Through ESI/TeachOverseas, I spent 6 years teaching English and History full-time in the Hungarian public high school system.  Then the Lord moved me to Italy where I've been teaching conversational English to adults part-time while serving alongside Calvary Chapel.

"Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among the peoples." (Psalm 26:2-3)

I love to write.  But I'm terrible at keeping up with newsletters.  So I hope that my blog will give you at least a little glimpse of what it's like walking with the Lord in Italy!
